Written response to Quintin Buxton

Why Should I Even Vote This Year?

Your article came across good points because as a young generation we are finding that even the government it is a lie as well voting. The older generation is greater to know about politics than the young generation, as we have the “super delegates” the ones who decide where our votes to. Some of our votes can become useless and its bitter sweet to know that the entire struggle on voting for the one that is right for our nation they end up sending our votes to the one we did not wanted to vote in the first place. United States is not a democracy as it seems to appear but instead is an oligarchy that has been going on for decades. The rule of the rich over the poor describes our political system clearly.
We can see that our votes are useless and the ones who are running for presidency are the rich wealthy people and advancing to the next round while the ones we want are in the bottom. The government is manipulative to tell everyone to vote and lie to people’s faces while the ones to choose for the people would be the delegates. Like Greg Mankiw's made a point "voting is a civic responsibility, they because democracy works best when everyone participates" is a national disgrace he said.
If our votes didn't matter in 2000 when it was the biggest turn out of the year why should it matter now, having to vote in the different states it could be 10 to the 200,708th power which you have the chance to win the jack pot than affecting the election's outcome. As a college student I clearly see that no matter who we vote for our votes will never count which is sad because as our generation is growing we would want a better government than the one the nation creates by having the wrong president in the United States. So if many people want to call the young generation ignorant because most of us don't vote, we can understand that our votes will never passed the super delegates because them being in control they choose whoever they want as a president, and all the hopes for a better government are crush and we are left I voted but I don't know what happen? The article Don't vote makes good points why America is the way it is.
